His wings do look a bit battered, but swallowtails seem to be relatively docile so he might not have been in too bad of shape. Lighting looks a little bit harsh, but insects don't cooperate very well so it's quite understandable.

That's quite sad. I'm not 100% sold on the selective desaturation (or I'm assuming that's in the photo, if not you have a *very* grey drive way.

I think it's because the butterfly isn't brightly coloured enough to be clearly seperated from the grey.

Still a very nice capture.
