Day 2: Cavalryby EstimatedEyesComment by BeckyT: This is the perfect subject for sepia. If you cropped out the modern guy in the shadows on the right some would think this was real. Add a little grain and it would look authentic. Love the tones you have acheived. |

is this for those Scottish or Irish dances? |
I agree ... the one shoe looked sharp in the LCD and I immediately thought it would make a nice B+W, then saw it was softer when i got home and threw it up on the monitor. But I liked the diagonal lines and the wood grain, so decided to go with it anyway
Not sure what kind of dance it was. They were having an Old West days festival in Old Town this weekend, and this girl, accompanied by her sister and parents on fiddle and wind instruments, was doing some sort of Irish jig on the wooden sidewalk. We stopped to watch, I had my telephoto on snapping pics of my kid and her cousins, and the feet caught my eye so I made some quick snaps like this for the challenge. |

Day 2: Cavalryby EstimatedEyesComment by Budya: I think you did a great job with the sepia tone. I do like the photo a lot. I'd suggest burning the area in the lower right corner so that the man with a drink is not as distracting. Adding some grain would give this a real old feel, too. |

Day 1: Two-stepby EstimatedEyesComment by jasonlprice: I love the motion and emotion that you have captured here! Great tonal range which really makes this a great B/W. I love the diagonal lines too. I'm not to fond of the large white border, but I think it does need one...just maybe smaller. A lovely capture! |

yellowby EstimatedEyesComment by jeger: I think it is a little too bright. I would also like to see more breathing room for the main subject (more negative space on the left as opposed to the right) |

yellowby EstimatedEyesComment by Puckzzz: I don't know what to think of this one. It's a (little?) statue, but I don't like it, so the photo to me is not appealing. |
