The back-lighting works well here to portray the mood. However, the lack of sharpness of the face (along with some areas which seem a bit too bright to me) somewhat takes away from the image. The foreground floor has too much light for this image imho and the shoes of the subject do not go well with the theme and mood you're trying for...The subject's left hand seems over-blown by the light as well. 5 for effort.
