The Ruinby e301Comment by Artyste: This is one of the better landscapes in the challenge, IMO.. A little dark. I like to see the greens a little brighter, livelier.. It's an interesting subject, and I wonder how it would have worked in a sepia/bw. Nice positioning of the horizon as well, the sky doesn't overpower. I just think this would have been a better picture with a little more brightness to it. 7 |

The Ruinby e301Comment by soup: not a lot to say here- a great photo - the softness of the buildings bugs me a bit.

The Ruinby e301Comment by dartompkins: Beautiful but not real interesting. I think I would have liked a wider angle, maybe less centered. Very nice color. 8. |

The Ruinby e301Comment by stupidcat: I like the wizard of oz feel of this photo. The colors are such that it looks like it was a set built in a studio and then a matte painting behind. Very unique. Great photo. An 8. |

The Ruinby e301Comment by wewillexplore: This is a sweet shot. I like the muted colors - nothing oversaturated. The sky is great too. I'm not as excited about the composition, but I'm not sure what I would have changed. |

The Ruinby e301Comment by geewhy: There`s a sort of "haloing effect" in play here which highlights the ruins and subdues the rest of the image.
I think that it does it`s job well.
Nice work |

The Ruinby e301Comment by skylen: Wow, this almost feels like a painting. The textures in this image are fantastic. The building is really interesting, but the weather REALLY makes it perfect.
I really am interested to see what kind of postprocessing you did. Did you dodge and burn? Vignetting? I just love the 'feel' of the image but can't quite nail down why.
Just goes to show that it pays to go out in the so-called 'nasty' weather when most photogs stay home! |

The Ruinby e301Comment by ursula: I love the beautiful, dreamlike quality of this shot. It looks so soft, without being blurred. Lovely shot. |

The Ruinby e301Comment by MrAkamai: At first I thought the contrasting sky colors were distracting but then I thought that they gave dark feel to the shot to emphasize the fact that the buildings have been in ruin for a long time. Composition is also good. 8 |
