Butterfly Burnby PsychodelicSComment by faithriko: Slightly out of focus, and personally I don't like the background, are still visible the details!
It's difficult to separate the butterfly from the the (candle?) |

Because of you...by PsychodelicSComment by xianart: in interesting idea, and the beginnings of a very nice image, with interesting symbolism.
however, the set up makes it very hard to read the image. the small silver object on the left is very hard to read - a diamond ring? a pencil sharpener? if this were shot from a higher angle, with all the objects closer to each other, it would make a more dramatic composition.
the flash is also very harsh, creating a very bright foreground where there is nothing happening. ambient light, while somewhat harder to shoot in, probably would create a more pleasing result here. even filtering the flash with a piece of white paper would soften the effect, and make a gentler light.
so, a good start, and keep shooting! |

Because of you...by PsychodelicSComment by outland: I am not sure I understand your idea but speaking purely of the image I think I might have tried to get the background to be more different in value than the foreground. I like the color in the heart and the body of the lock. |

Because of you...by PsychodelicSComment by Art Roflmao: Because of you I locked my heart stick? :/ Not quite getting it, but maybe it's as obvious as "key to my heart" concept or something. Overall I don't like the use of the flash here and the focus / DoF is not appealing to me. A little more effort in the perspective, background and lighting and this may have been much better. Good luck though. |
