The Monolith of Convenienceby WonderDudeComment by WonderDude: Thanks guys and gals for all the comments. I've learned allot from this event. Looking back I realize now that my ISO (400) was way too high. It was on a tripod with a timer. Obviously, my main issues were focus and graininess. I will try to do better next time. BTW, the camera is my new Kodak Easyshare z612. I don't believe it is at fault here. But who knows. Also, another thing that I have come to realize is that different monitors can make the image look much different. I have an old CRT with lots of deep black levels. The picture seems to look pretty good there. I also have an LCD at work with reveals a few more blemishes. Another friend of mine has an old IMac. I'm not completely sure why, but the picture looks terrible on his monitor. Anyway, I still have allot to learn.
Thanks again for all your critiques. :-) |

The Monolith of Convenienceby WonderDudeComment by chris_u: You've done well with the agreement between the photo and its title. But poor image quality hurts it. I'm sure that whatever camera you've used, you could lower the ISO to help with the noise, using a tripod or something to hold it steady. |

The Monolith of Convenienceby WonderDudeComment by riccardino: Interesting composition, but IMO the out of focus fg is quite annoying.
You have also a lot of noise that is really distracting (at the first glance I was more concerned of the noise than of the shot). |
