It's a lovely piece! What a treat to still have it in your possession. I do agree with Julianne that the background doesn't contribute well - but I do like the light and understand why you shot it outside.

The clouds look dirty. How long was this picture your camera? Just kidding around. Good shot.

Hey!

Here's the edit:

The idea was to use USM to get rid of the blur, while using multiple layers to get rid of the traces of oversharpening.

-Layer via copy.
-USM at 6pm, around 75%
-Use an eraser to delete the bits of the image obviously displaying an oversharpening halo.
-Repeat again with USM at 1.2px, around 60% to sharpen the finer details.

I also cropped off a bit of the bottom, increased the saturation a notch (+10), and decreased the saturation of the yellows a bit (-8).

The whole thing is a lot easier to fix by selectively applying noise reduction, rather than playing with it later to fix it though.

Oh cool! Nice composition (the curvy branch thing is very cool), and I love the colour of the sky. However, it appears that the birdie had an unfortunate clash with a noise reduction program. Since in this case you're not limited by basic editing, you can solve it by using two different layers. The sky probably did need noise reduction to the extent you did it, but the bird and the branch didn't - just create a copy layer, apply noise reduction, then get rid of the bits that you didn't want Neat Imaged using a reduced opacity eraser.

Otherwise it's a good picture, there seems to be a decent amount of detail present, and I love that faraway look on the bird's face. Just fix the post-processing and it'll be perfect.

the lighting no the cactus and bird are really nice but the pixelated/ noisy sky really detracts from the image.

Very nice item. The crop feels a little tight, and I don't think the brick background does much to enhance it.
