My eyes don't really know where to look in this image (no real focal point, I'm bouncing around everywhere). I look at the moss covered rocks and don't see the "harsh environment". I see the flourishing green and see how many organisms are able to survive. The wood is even worn away, probably from insects eating it.

I like your attempt at framing with the posts, but there just isn't a subject to frame which matches the challenge description.

Shall I fly to the unknown?

The color of the pie is wonderful! It really stands out against the white background. Also, it was interesting to see the changes between your first photo of the pie to this one. This one is much more lively...that is, as lively as an inanimate object can be.
