I really loved this shot! The amount of detail in the wick is phenomenal!
It actually gives me flashbacks to once when I casually tried something like this. I was sitting at a restaurant table in Berlin very near Checkpoint Charlie with a co-worker, and playing with my trusty ol' Nikon 995, which actually had good macro capability. We had a candle on the table, and I for some reason started to try to get this type of image. I actually did get a passable picture, which at the time (2002) was pretty wild.
