Jun 04 - The ugly ducklingsby hajekaComment by markwiley: Nice detail. My instinct might have been to use a slower shutter speed and lower ISO, but I would have missed out on the nice water droplets. Nice choice. |

Zebraby hajekaComment by aliqui: I think this would have worked better without the water spots. The contrast is very effective and eye grabbing. |

Cormorantby hajekaComment by Bear_Music: I don't think I ever saw a cormorant with a flatfish before. That's a fish that lives on the bottom, big dive! A "fishing cormorant", btw, would be one with a collar around its neck to keep it from swallowing the fish; it's keeper would feed it after its work is done. They use them in Japan, traditionally. What you have here is a feeding cormorant :-) |

Where only weed can survive...by hajekaComment by Alyn: My eyes don't really know where to look in this image (no real focal point, I'm bouncing around everywhere). I look at the moss covered rocks and don't see the "harsh environment". I see the flourishing green and see how many organisms are able to survive. The wood is even worn away, probably from insects eating it.
I like your attempt at framing with the posts, but there just isn't a subject to frame which matches the challenge description. |
