I'm not getting the idea behind this for the challenge topic. The shot is also a bit too grainy, contrasty, and abstract for my taste. Though the object on the left has interesting lighting and textures, the overblown umbrella bokeh is too different in style to make this a cohesive image for me.

While you are right that there is not much contrast between the berries and background, for me the lighting on the berries is wonderful and makes them stand out. You just need some fresher berries I guess :-)

I like how the stem of the cut fig wraps around the stem of the back fig, and the tilt of both of them. Can't wait to see the poster at the end of the month :-)
