Long Road Aheadby SomeamateurComment by wavelength: about 5 steps to the right. highest f/ you have, tripod, but to spice things up in photoshop, square crop getting rid of blown highlights in the sky, and the useless forground. USM@86%,.5,0 Copy background layer to new, run gaussian blur@3 (for this size), and switch layer blend mode to hard light.

Mirror Image V2by SomeamateurComment by wavelength: Gettong a lower viewpoint and moving the horizon to a central location will balance the composition. If there is a possibility of taking this again at sunset, do that. Do it until you get it perfect, more than than, spectactular. Don't just photograph the subject, make it yours. Make it art. |

Long Road Aheadby SomeamateurComment by kenskid: Nice perspective. This shot actually makes me feel as if I might "roll" down that hill. Whenever a shot can envoke a "lifelike" feeling in me, I feel it is a pretty good picture!
However, sometimes the feeling may not be good. For example, some people "box in" their subject too tightly and that makes me uncomfortable!

Murray River Colourby SomeamateurComment by kenskid: Along with the nice colors, I feel you set-up this shot well. Most amateurs would have simply pointed the camera out over the water. You created a nice line using the shore...and now for the big hairy but...
...but that white "bridge" or "fence" thing at end of the shore sort of "dead ends" my eye. It stops me in my tracks and doesn't allow an easy transition to the sky...I hope that makes sense!
