Comment by jdfido:
Really cool perspective on this one. I like how the lines in the fence seem to draw me to the cool blue sky behind the subject. Nicely done!

Comment by shutterpuppy:
not a bad idea. the lighting isn't really highlighting the textures of teh onion very well, and the upper roots seem a little out of focus. this also perhaps would have been better with a lighter background. -5

Good idea and model but the lighting is a bit flat. I think the detail could have been much stronger with better lighting.

Comment by Ann:
I read your post in the forums. I think this is a nice photo that is a good example of shallow DOF. I think a lot of shots in this challenge that actually had shallow but not razor thin DOF got beat up by the voters. So don't worry about it, you did a good job here.

Comment by kenskid:
That is shallow DOF....the only thing that bothers me is that the rocks are tilted toward the right side of the picture. I just look awarkward to me. All else is good imo.

Comment by cpanaioti:
Yes, the DOF is shallow. You got it. However, the in focus rocks blend with the background. The idea with shallow DOF is to use it to isolate the main subject. With the colours being very similar the rocks aren't really isolated from the background.
