Fang you, fang you very much.by MarfunComment by Devinder: two things: 1. personal preference wise, i dislike spiders; but i have been wowed with some macro shots of them. 2. i would have liked to see a bit more experimentation with lighting and color. |

no fly zoneby MarfunComment by Catherine_B: Interesting macro. Great spider! The tie to framing is a bit weak. Yes, you have a "frame" on 2 sides, but it isn't really enhancing the image. 6 from me. |

Embraceby MarfunComment by redpanda: Surprised it did not do better! Got 10 from me. Looks like this challenge was not in favor of arthropods:-)) |

no fly zoneby MarfunComment by Pangurban: I think the subject is great (despite my fear of spiders) but I didn't feel that the framing effect was strong enough |

Embraceby MarfunComment by levyj413: Good macro! The lack of visual separation between the spider and the flower leaves me a little less wowed, though. I can imagine you sitting there trying to figure out how to crop it, since the spider's face is clearly the central focal point, but the spider's legs are asymmetrical: put the spider's face in the middle and lose some of the legs on the left or keep the whole spider in there and lose the symmetry? I'm not sure there's a perfect answer, but I'll tell you this: I repeatedly found myself zooming my screen in so I could explore its face. You seem to have captured lots of good detail there, but the choice to show its whole body, combined with the small size required by the challenge, meant I couldn't see it well. |
