Forest of Chivesby dsidwellComment by photom: An excellent viewpoint. YOu image has wonderful colors that work well together. DoF handled well. Repeated shapes add a lot of impact but I'd prefer not to have the one that seems to sit atop the main one in focus. |

A Rotten Place to Hideby dsidwellComment by scrum8: Stop action on the tongue would have been excellent. Don't know if the lighting would have allowed that though. Excellent detail on the snake. |

Open Soonby dsidwellComment by Imagineer: There has indeed been daylight robbery here! 90th?! A very rich shot of an interesting subject. |

A Rotten Place to Hideby dsidwellComment by melismatica: I like snakes but I'm not finding this shot very compelling. The background is simple and the focus is sharp (on the snake --- the banana is rather fuzzy). I like the motion blur on his tongue. It's just not wowing me. |

Open Soonby dsidwellComment by kyrielle: Very crisp shot. I'm not sure that the decision to have it in black and white wasa good one, though. I find it busy and hard to look at - even though the fairly shallow depth of focus theoretically keeps the foreground crisp and background blurry, the values are so close that I find it's not too comfortable to look at, that I have to work a little to pull that information out. It's a tiring image to look at, because I'm not sure what to make of most of it, or where to rest my eyes. |
