An Essence of Speedby dsidwellComment by Artifacts: What a marvelous capture! Soft background is perfect. There is no noise. The bird is captured with crystal clarity. Composition and framing flawless. An amazing picture worthy of anyone's best of 2004 collection. Kudos to you! |

Day & Nightby dsidwellComment by soup: very nice - definately some drama to it. good tones too.
the negative space does underplay the size of the mountains i would guess.

An Essence of Speedby dsidwellComment by GolferDDS: Great shot. The feeling of motion makes one feel as if he/she is riding the wing of the bird. Excellent sharpeness and detail on the face. |

An Essence of Speedby dsidwellComment by rmtm333: WOW...Great title and result...The focus is bang on and your "bokeh" is perfect. Curious to know how you captured this (i.e. actually in flight or smudge tool-lol). Regardless, one of my top images I've voted on so far. Good Luck. |

Day & Nightby dsidwellComment by ursula: I like it, but I wonder about two things.
(1) There are three layers here, the snow, the mountains, the sky. I'm wondering if the picture might be more "powerful" if there were only mountains and sky. I'm just curious about that.
(2) Even though the mountains are absolutely beautiful here, I find it a bit distracting that those to the right hand side of the picture (except far right) are in shadow, whereas those to the left are in light. I don't know, maybe the picture would be too "bland" if all were in light, but I'm just wondering about that.
Please don't get offended, it's a beautiful shot. It's just that those were the thoughts that came to mind in looking at it. |
