Tea Timeby tcherringComment by joanns: Excellent capture of the steam! Of course, I would think that the pot would be a little too hot to hold like that. I like the purplish tone. |

After the Rainby tcherringComment by pncowley: Great tone and colors. The water really adds a smoothness to the shot, but is lost a bit in the bubbles below. Might benefit from a bit different crop, maybe moved more to the right? |

After the Rainby tcherringComment by e301: Excellent shot - the tones of those leaves caught in the water are wonderful. The composition desn't seem quite right to me: not sure whether those leaves or the waterfall are the real subject - my eye is pulled both ways. |

The Duck Pondby tcherringComment by lbWhaples: Good animal shot. I hat shooting animals, who knows what they're going to do next? I don't know what equipment you have but my critique of thsi photo would include comments about focusing on the subject, not letting peripheral objects interfere witht the subject, and colorization, the photo's color is washed out. With a little technical help, this could be a nice photo. |

Initial thoughts
Congrats on the ribbon! , meets the challenge, lighting could be better.
Composition/ Content
The thing that grabs you about the shot is the expression on Pongo's face. It really tells a story. The "9" stands out quite well. Black and White was an excellent choice.
Technical
Focus seems good and contrast is excellent for the difference in light and shadow you have here. You seem to have a knack for portraiture which in opinion is one of the toughest parts of photography. I disagree that you should have cropped this differently, I think it is great. The only thing I would like to see improved is the lighting. I think a reflection onto to the back of Pongo's head would have outlined it a little better and made the "flashiness" on his face a little less harsh.
My Opinion On The Photo
I originally scored this shot a seven as did the most voters. I think that it really meets the challenge well but I had a problem with the lighting which didn't really appeal to me. Fantastic job, and keep up the good work.
I would be happy to talk further about this shot if you would like to contact me.
