Boy on the Beachby kevip6Comment by kevip6: Thanks for all the comments
In response to Jedusi's very detailed comment - I did consider the foot in the composition but it did look better with it cropped out, I was very aware of the foot but it just felt better with the slight crop, it was almost like I'd squeezed him in with the full foot
Included but as soon as it was slightly cropped it felt much more like a compositional choice and so worked better? It's an interesting point though, I was expecting a lot more comments on the foot though
I've had the g11 for a couple of months now and apart from the actual handelling being far more awkward then the 5d in terms of focus, etc.. The output quality is very good. I'd happily print the pictures at 20" and the quality would be great. The main advantage really is the off camera flash capability. It's fantastic.
Thanks again |

Boy on the Beachby kevip6Comment by Jedusi: A great shot - and doubly so as it wasn't taken on a DSLR - a good reminder of what can be achieved without carrying a ton of kit about.
I really like this shot - my only real critique is about losing his foot - and maybe - just maybe I would have considered looking at it being more of a landscape crop rather than portrait.
But still a great shot. |
