Afraid that his strength would not suffice. Afraid that his test here would fail. Afraid that the land would be covered in darkness should he fall.

Yes, he was afraid, but he stood tall and faced the setting sun and gathered the energies of it into himself and faced that fear. For he was the chosen, a mage of immense power and destiny, and if he did not prevail here, no one would.
