I think what would make it stronger is to develop the story of the character a bit more. Okay, he's at the end of the bridge. Is he just staring into the water, admiring the scenery? Or is he distraught and thinking of jumping in? Maybe making me wonder is your intention, but I feel it would be great to give some more clues. Like, what if suitcase and umbrella were dropped along the path, and the coat stripped off and discarded?

Meh, what am I saying, this is a better shot than I could make. :)
