i don't know many that have read that orwell piece on language, meaning and politics. it should, i think, be mandatory reading for all. simply wonderful writing, and so very apt now, in the age of spin.
for those who haven't read it, and are reading this - here it is:
Politics and the English Lnaguage |

window in Duncanc.jpgby tnunComment by Jutilda: looking toward the window
I wonder what once
would have been looking
back at me
I love windows! Something about their shape and the ability to see through them from both sides, while the rest of the structure is completely obstructing our view!!! |

Not My Petby tnunComment by SandyP: Whoa! He looks fierce! What a capture! But somehow, I have a feeling he is a big softie on the inside once you get that look off his face :)

collector spoonby tnunComment by TygerPawz: I like the brightness of the spood compared to the background, it draws my attention to what is in the spoon rather than the spoon itself. |

Ferry Mayne Is. Pt..jpgby tnunComment by bmonk: Second thought: Maybe the front shoreline exiting at the corner, the way it does, is better than at some random height.... endless obsession. |

Ferry Mayne Is. Pt..jpgby tnunComment by bmonk: Love it.
But I can't sit still with the pastel lightness. I would experiment with more saturation, etc.
Seriously, I'd suggest revisting this one.
Where'd you crop from? If possible, I'd add back a smidgeon at the bottom. All else is perfect. |

Lake Scene P1360633.jpgby tnunComment by bmonk: Can't rotate it, 'cuz there's a swing or something hanging from tree on right, which has to be vertical.
I would have cropped the bottom up to just below the long horizontal cloud reflection. Leaving same amount of sky (reflx) as between clouds and tree top reflexion. But that's just me.
Nice parallel pic to mine that you've seen with red tree and pond and rock in foreground. |

Phyllis's Dock at Twilight.jpgby tnunComment by bmonk: I've seen the original, another one, and the B&W. I, too, like this one the best. Liked BW next best (texture of front rail). [There, I've done it -- finally started participating (small way) on DPC.] Hugs. |

Willieby tnunComment by colorcarnival: He really does have a sweet face. I wouldn't mind seeing how this would look if you cropped off the left side and put more framing emphasis on his face. He looks like he is either getting ready to speak or give a big kiss lol - very cute! |
