Very artful and a prime example of how art is everywhere, if we would only see it. I too, thought you were cutout. :)

Lots of interesting aspects to this image. I like the b&w. Very nice detail too. I'm especially drawn to the little girl with her hand up. From the way she's holding her hand I get the feeling that there's a barrier there. I don't know why. I like the way you framed it in the camera. Nicely seen and photographed.

Comment by MacDonald:
I think it was a good choice to expose for the b/g as I agree with what others have posted that the woman really makes this shot interesting... the guy in the foreground seems to be setting up to make his lunch.

Definitely a story here. The fellow under the tree, in the shadows, is what I see at first then I'm drawn to see the woman in the cafe. Tells a story that lingers in the mind.

I like the crispness and high contrast in this shot.. as other's have mentioned, your crop really brings the focus onto the children and the adults who are not paying attention, made all the more ominous indeed by the sign.. really holds my interest.

I really like your subjects, and the contrast of the big legs next to the little children. It's odd, though, because above the fence rail the background is washed out. It almost seems like two different backgrounds. I might try cropping so the sky isn't visible, though of course you'd lose the veiny arm of the man on the left, which is an interesting detail.

Two worlds created by height - two sets of conversations and focus - wonderful job of composition to drive home the message

the perspective and how we are driven to see the woman drinking inside the shop across the parking lot is outstanding - subtle yet hard hitting

Comment by Melethia:
I very much like this take on the scene, cutting off the adults and focusing on the children, who indeed seem quite captivated with the view before them. Excellent conversion - very good contrast and clarity.

I like the wrap around effect of Pay Parking Only. And I really like the woman in the cafe. You may have been shooting the man in the foreground, but it's the woman that makes the shot for me.
