portrait, low key, rule of thirdsby tnunComment by marco: Hmmm... Something bothers me about the composition, but I can't really put my finger on it. The first thing that comes up is the lighting, that leads the attention to the wing of the swan, wich is not the most interesting part imo. The focus should be on the heads, and they're too dark. Also the positioning of the swans (the relation between the two) doesn't tell much of a story. Therefore the back swan doesn't add much interest to the whole. |

the X fliesby tnunComment by Pug-H: Fantastic capture. I'd like to get one like this some day, but for some reason there don't seem to be so many dragonflies around during the summer as there used to be.
Those blue spots on the tail are really cool, aren't they! |

the X fliesby tnunComment by MelonMusketeer: This is just excellent. Maybe not for the challenge voters, but the actual shot of the bug is perfect. If it is cropped, I would have probably tried to leave more space on the right side , moving the subject bug so that it appeared to be moving into the shot.
That's great timing and quick focusing to get such a fine shot on an airborne insect. I shoot some like this too, and it is sort of a crap shoot to get a good one like this. |

Lake w. Reeds.jpgby tnunComment by Tammster: I really like this shot too (agree about the sunflair but I dont think it looks lopsided... I like the composition as is). |

Although it usually works for politicians, this is what happens on DPC when you go negative. :P |
