I'm not sure why this slid so far, I had it in my top ten. The delicate balance between the skin and the shadow of the skin are lovely, but where confusion exists as to subject matter, scores often suffer no matter how nice the image. A bit more square of a crop to reduce attention on the background might have helped.

I like the concept here and I think the shot would work better if the composition was made a little stronger by perhaps having the banjo and the dog in equal yet opposite portions of the image.

'Fluffy' had heard all the songs a million times or more. They were played well on a good instrument, but he knew the money wouldn't roll in until he started doing his dog dance. The star of the show was waiting for the right moment with the right lighting and the right crowd. He was 3 dances away from the $250 he needed for a flight to Hollywood to become a film star, or work in a restaurant if it failed.
