This is a striking image. It's beautiful. For your knowledge, though, the image is more haunting to me than hopeful, and I think it has to do with the black & white soft quality of everything, as well as the black background, disembodied hand, and plucked flower head... This is really a strange, surreal photo. It's ghost-like.

Good black background and I can see what you're trying to do with the low contrast/soft focus but I'm not sure it works too well for me. I personally prefer more contrast and a deeper tonal range.

I found this photo rather interesting by the centre of the flower though i feel that maybe i would have focused it more on this central aspect. Positioning is great just personally i would have gone for a sharper focus.

I like the shot. I think you can improve upon the contrast a bit by using channel mixer and then you might be able to bring out the flower off your hands.. just a thought
