Welcome aboard dain :) I'm a little slow and it was your 'money' shot that reminded me we met last year (you were trying to break into the moneybox at the tate lol).

Lots to look at hear and it gives me a sense of peacefulness, I think your composition is spot on, its just the little bit of haloing on the right hand bridge support that bothers me. Am sure it would look even better printed large and on your wall (even better someone elses!).

Great start to our year of B&W ;)

I prefer this one above your sepia version. The bridge looks here a lot more impressive (but perhaps it's just the larger size).

Wow..all the reflections and the burning is way cool. Love the focus on the old boat but my eye is drifted off through out the picture. Very cool picture and awesome b/w.
I would suggest one thing.. the bridge is a bit bright around one of the support poles. That would be the only I think I would fix.

i can see why the boat out of water is just that - it seems that if it was in the water, it would quickly find its way to the bottom...very cool stuff

The composition is very solid - the boat in the foreground works well, even in the presence of the complex background. The choice of framing with the bridge really works well. I wonder about the dodging around the boat - it seems a bit overly done compared to the greyness of the rest of the image.

Wonderful depth here and a lot to visit without being busy. Richly toned - nice work, Dain! Glad you'll be participating.

The reflection part could easily be a picture on it's own.. really like the boats littered about.. great composition..

Now, to me, I could easily see this hanging on the wall. Very cool and it plays to a weakness I have for boats. It would be nice to see the ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. I am guessing that this is f16 or smaller because of the amazing depth of field. Great shot.

And much nicer in B&W than the duotone.

Very good image. I like the boat, the bridge, the reflection, the clouds - they all make the mood of the image and do it well.

I love how the reflection of the bridge in the water does not miss a beat as the boat the picks up the same shape as the reflection keeping the image moving. The hard dark contrast works for me.
