Springby lunachickenComment by photokid69: upping the exposure on this one would just blow out the top half of the photo.. if you were to up the exposure, you would need something to help out with ur dinamic range. A grad ND filter, or computer generated HDR.
But i like the dark blue cloud.. makes it seem very moody, angry, ominous, fierce, dangerous..

Burrowing Owlby lunachickenComment by Elvis_L: "why the hell do you think they call it a burrow owl anyway!"
sorry a line from an old Dead Milkmen.i really dig the shot. the colors are great and owl is pretty sharp. at first the OOF parts stand out but after a minute i don't notice them. great capture. |

Burrowing Owlby lunachickenComment by Jaded_Housewife: cute! I'd agree the blur is distracting. maybe at least keep that sharp line of focus across the grass and crop some of the right hand side off to follow the rule of thirds with the owl? great color and what timing that shot must have taken. Birds hear me coming from like half a mile away. I can't get near one to save my life. :P |

Biology - Damselfly Procreationby lunachickenComment by wrex: They are makign a heart shape, too. Turn it 90 degrees counter-clockwise and I think it might even be a more interesting composition. I'd also want to blur, smudge or otherwise mute that one high-contrast spike coming in from the top in the background. It's a bit distracting from the image. |
