The Secret Gardenby lunachickenComment by dtremain: Comment Challenge: I like this subtle but effective picture. The girl in the glass is potentially missed, but the subtleness of her adds to the feeling of hidden / secret. The image seems to say, "I am hiding something from you." |

The Secret Gardenby lunachickenComment by RKT: 6...definitely conveys a sense of loneliness. My main 2 problems with this image are; the bit of window frame at the top, I might have cropped that out and the B&W conversion seems a bit flat...it could do with a bit of a levels or curves adjustment. |

The Secret Gardenby lunachickenComment by Cory: Hmm.. This novel evokes images of fantastic English gardens and high-culture.
The image doesn't really do that for me - this seems far more American and rural, and not like the imagery of the novel.
With that being said, a lonely child was a strong theme of the novel, so points there.
Overall, the image doesn't really intrigue me, and I find the reflection to be the most interesting part - yet even then it's still not terribly interesting.

Gullby lunachickenComment by RKT: Every time I see a photo of a seagull like this, I'm reminded of summers at my grandfathers in Plymouth, MA...of how they would dive bomb us trying to steal our clams while eating at the Clam Hut...good times. |

Anna's Hummingbird?by lunachickenComment by RKT: ...omg...so freakin' cute! So poofy! I don't think I've ever seen one of these before. You caught the iridescence perfectly. |

Abandonedby lunachickenComment by RKT: I love how the sand looks like metal...moire taffeta...either way it has this really nice movement. |

The Secret Gardenby lunachickenComment by Abra: I find this image to be quite appealing. The emotion I wish to see in this child ties it in nicely with the book. The image itself really is beautiful. 8 |

The Secret Gardenby lunachickenComment by Tiberius: Does not tell me much of a garden but I do like the reflection of the boy. I would have tried a different crop, straighten a bit the frame and play more with light contrast. 6 |

The Secret Gardenby lunachickenComment by daisydavid: A good mood created that focuses more on a study of the child rather than the environment. I like how you have the faint image of the boy set in his usual surrounds. One of the few entries that really makes me feel the connection. 8. |
