Oh Phooey! We'd all band together to cheer you up, if only we could've been magically transported :) And this looks like such a fun time. Live music and enjoyable crowds are a nice mix. The only thing that might've made this image work a smidge better is if you had set the camera up on tripod and run in front with a grin and wave! :)

Is the guy up there singing with no instruments or band? What kind of music was he singing?

I'd say you did a nice job of catching a festive atmosphere - and I see there is no rain. Good reason to celebrate :)

The bottle is very interesting. It looks like there is something written on it. Across the state line, in Missouri, they have these horrifyingly ugly rusting "things" they call art. It looks like something from a junk yard. So this is very pretty, and a bit thought provoking. What a fun find on your long trip.

Wow, that was a real surprise to see!

I went to University in Middlesbrough, (so named because the spelt Middlesborough wrong on the original charter of the town) and always used to love this. 'boro is a really depressed place, a bit like Milton Keynes on a bad day, and this bottle really is a little shot of humour in an otherwise dreary town.
