This is an interesting effect and I remember looking at it long and hard during FS voting - and then not voting, as I couldn't make up my mind about it. I think what maybe detracts is that the magic stick doesn't look quite real, due to the painted effect. I'm also not sure about the light line bisecting the top area of the photo, as it maybe detracts from the inherent mystery of the two little boys on the path. However, I do find this captivating and it made me look several times.

First -- if there is any halo'ing, it is so minimal, its hardly noticeable -- and the pose you captured is well worth any slight technical imperfections (if there are any).

Sometimes what I do if I end up with a little halo'ing caused by too much sharpening or processing of some kind -- is to be sure that I'm doing my changes in layers. Then, do a layer mask on the layer with sharpening, curves or whatever. . .and erase thru just around the edges at about 50% or whatever it takes to eliminate the problem.

But I think this look just fine!

OMG, what an adorable photo. When I saw the title "bath time", I was expecting to see kids in the water. . .this was a delightful unexpected surprise that turned my heart to mush immediately on opening.

Tho she looks quite unhappy to be in that position, you can most definitely tell that she has princess status in her family :)
