Snapshot comment made me think about this place and why I like it and why I don't. It's not the first time I've received that comment so lol no issues there. I am so glad that this place exists because I would never have grown as a photographer. I am sure about that. But now, when I look at photos that move me and don't score well, I know it's time to find a different place to learn. I've stopped shooting "for" DPC and I've found it to be quite refreshing. It is actually disheartening when you take a shot that has something deeper in it, like this one, and it doesn't score well. However, it also says something about the site when you enter a shot like this and you KNOW it won't score well. Or maybe it's not an indication of the site itself, but instead the growth of the individual. However, the site itself does not want to do anything to grow either, and I think unfortunately that will lead it to it's lowest point ever. I'll never totally leave this place, because it reminds me of high school with all it's cliques and different grade levels of photography experience. I feel like I've graduated from DPC High - so my attachment is in the form of loving an alma mater. But I have not figured out yet how much I want to support it. Maybe I still have Senioritis and I need some time away to figure it out :)

Fascinating shot, Michelle. Gotta love this stat -- Avg (commenters): 9.0000. While the average voter may not have taken much notice -- you struck a strong cord with some very discerning eyes. Nice one.
