I like this shot, I just wish there was more of it. You have good detail present, and the water is exposed well to get a "softness" to it. However, because of your tight crop, it is difficult to get the "feel" of the motion of the water. I think with a bit more at the top and/or left it would help convey that more.

The focus is good and exposure is pretty close because there is detail showing throughout the dark areas as well as the lighter ones. The blue color, while it does add to the overall "temperature" of the shot, still seems to be "off" in terms of white balance. The eye expects the ice to be white, so the blue seems a bit disconcerting. If you could keep some of the blue in the water, but make the ice a truer white, I think it would have had a slightly stronger impact.

If I need to further explain myself, or clarify anything, please feel free to contact me.

Those are some unique specs. Good angle and good choice of B&W. Contrast is a little high, but then you may have wanted that considering the title.

i do not consider this an interesting photo.
if you wanted to show what that optical instrument is used for, meybe this was not the bestaç angle since it does not help to figure out what he is seeing , i mean what he is holding with his hands.

I must admit, picking locks are tons of fun. This one is pretty fun and different. I mean how many people do you know that has those kind of glasses? Great idea and nice big and sharp picture. Good job.

I'd like to see a bit more of his hands and to have them in focus with more depth of field.

I like the simplicity of the photo. How you really focus on the bits of ice, and the water is all a blur. You really did emphasize the blue in the picture due to the theme.
