A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way - a perfect conversion to black and white. From an artistic standpoint, it is a terrific image but of less than universal appeal as some viewers might think it overly dark. A very good example of the zone system. Well done.

I think a few of your commenters hit the nail on the head. It's a good shot, but it doesn't really feel like a postcard. Darn those pesky challenge details! Meeting the challenge aside, I really think it's well done. Some of the white may be blown, but it looks fine to me. I think the puffy clouds complement the snow quite well, and I like the negative space at the top. I too think it could be a Coke add. In a different challenge this could score a lot higher. The only thing I don't like is the bit of snow behind the left foot. It ruins the illusion that he's sitting at the apex of a humongous mound of snow.

An image that demonstates the subject matter of the challenge in spectacular fashion with excellant DOF and color control. Both a technical and artistic success that more than adequately meets the challenge subject in particular with the color shades. Minor white bloom flaw on the individual fruits. A very worthy contender for top ten honors and a possible ribbon contender.

The white balance seems to be a little off. Harsh lighting like this doesn't bring out their beauty as well as a diffused light might have.

the colors and texture are cool. there's a lot going on in this picture though and it's a little distracting. i think it might be some of the highlights
