Nice shot. I noticed the paper was in English, but this scene reminds me of the time I lived in Mozambique. For some reason I am fascinated with it. It's a favorite and a 10 for me.

Such a nice, bright change after so many dark portraits. I'm sure it will help this stand out from the crowd. Is the camera lying on a fake backdrop? The photo looks real, but the reflected lights look like studio lights. Anyway, very well done and a high score from me.

Great use of rays! I really like this photo. The only nitpick I have is he looks too much like he's reading the newspaper which for me softens the blow of his cold harsh reality just a tad and with a title like that I think the harshness should be amped up not down. Not that I wish more on this person just that maybe there was a slightly different moment in time that was a bit more defining, if I am to nitpick. That said, this is head and shoulders over most of the entries and is in my top 5. Good luck!
