The Old Church Outtakeby bassboneComment by bvy: Now this is beautiful. Layers of framing and vast DOF pull the viewer into successively brighter regions -- until the light is blinding. A quite fitting crusade for the eyes.
Really nice, Peter. |

The Blue Shiftby bassboneComment by KarenNfld: One of the better abstract movement photos I have seen. I want to try this but I doubt it will turn out this good. |

The Blue Shiftby bassboneComment by h2: well chosen color scheme, good composition, highly dynamic look & feel. The white border adds to the graphic sense, the thin black line wasn'tnnecessary, though. Still by far the best of the abstracts in the challenge. 9 |

The Old Churchby bassboneComment by bvy: I am participating in the "Why a '5' not a '6'?" commenting activity ( see recent forum thread). Viewers are asked to leave a comment with some of their votes of '5' letting the photographer know why, for them, it fell short of a vote of '6'. If you have found this comment useful, you may wish to offer some of your own to those images where you vote 5.
Love the scene you chose, but I was a little unsure about the composition. The right side has some dead weight (the wall). Also, the eye (my eye anyway)jumps to the window and from there, the ceiling, which I suspect is most awesome, but alas, very little of it is visible. I also feel like some foreground elements of some interest might have also been cropped, but I'm not sure. A portrait view of the same scene might have put you into my land of six.
So now you know. And if you didn't get a six from me, it might interest you to know that this is my nine thousandth comment here. |

Barn Windowby bassboneComment by DiscoVader: Awesome. Weston's shots like this make me think of children's books where you are supposed to lift a flap to see what's underneath. I'm not sure what I mean by that, but I think you have captured it here. I love the reflection in the window, and I'm not sure how Westony it is, so I'll leave it alone. Nice shot. |
