Banana Blueby GotchyaComment by SteveS: Clever idea and exectution. There's probably too much white, but good imagination. |

Banana Blueby GotchyaComment by mk: I don't really understand the point of making this blue. I think if you'd left it yellow, it would have been a fine picture but making it blue ruined it for me. |

Banana Blueby GotchyaComment by BigHusker001: A blue banana just doesn't do it for me. Adjusting controls to extreme levels, in my opinion, has a purpose in art, but not in this case. Not only is it unnatural, but also made it grainy and unpleasing to the eye. |

:-(by GotchyaComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Hi Gotchya...
This photograph is nicely composed, but I think it may have actually done better without the reflections in the blade of the scissors. I understand your intention with that, but, to me, it makes the photo seem a bit odd. I do like the strong diagonals created by the scissors. Diagonals always seem to enhance a composition for me.
As for the macro theme, I think we suffered common fates with our photographs in this challenge. My photograph didn't scream 'macro' because it wasn't an extreme closeup. Unfortunately, just having your camera in the macro mode doesn't seem to work for challenges here. The subject needs to appear larger than life to do well in a macro challenge.
Keep up the good work :)
John Setzler

Banana Blueby GotchyaComment by autool: I'm sorry but this just doesn't do anything for me. I would be interested to see a real clear shot of a perfect bannana in its natural state done with the same composition. 4 |
