Goose Pondby whiterookComment by glad2badad: Sorry...somewhat of a "snapshot". Great for family photo albums, but not quite what's expected in a Free Study challenge IMO.
edit to add - "IMO". :-) Message edited by author 2011-12-08 06:56:47. |

Goose Pondby whiterookComment by KristinaG: The harsh sunlight, centered composition of the dog, and nearly cropped of head of the woman, all make me feel that this is more of a snapshot than a thoughtfully planned photograph. The woman is staring at the camera awkwardly and the dog is staring at something off screen, which both ensures that nothing interesting is happening within the frame for the viewer to look at, and rather the viewer wonders what is happening outside of it. If the dog was looking at and engaging the woman, and the woman was looking at and engaging the dog, this might have been different. The way it is, they are in complete disharmony and the viewer feels this. Even just cropping out the woman entirely would have made this a much more powerful photograph.
I am not trying to be critical in telling you this. Rather, I am trying to meaningfully explain my low vote (as so many people often call for) so that you may improve in the future. This photograph is sharp and mostly exposed properly, it just needs a more thoughtfully captured moment, to make it great. 4 |

Goose Pondby whiterookComment by sidpixel: Good attempt but I'm not really moved by this, the main participants are too static and I'm unsure whether the ball is floating or travelling through the air, I wish you well with it |

A Hawk flew in to the yardby whiterookComment by hopefulcrafty1: I know that capturing any wildlife is hard, but in my opinion you need to capture the birds face or have the bird in some sort of action to tell a story to seperate the shot from just a snapshot. |
