Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by Abra: I'm am not familiar with this novel and to be honest, I could not find any book with this title on google so I will consider this to be not fully meeting the challenge. The image itself doesn't do a lot for me and the tilted horizon is distracting. However, I do like the softness and colour of the sky and the overall composition is nice. 3 |

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by posthumous: I don't know the book, but I do like the blues and golds of this palette. I like the simple composition as well with its strong diagonal that breaks the horizon line. 5 |

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by tvsometime: Don't know the book and can't find it with Google. Doesn't seem to have any reference to the dike plugging story, so regrets for defaulting to a DNMC. The image looks unprocessed on my monitor, but could be improved in a photo editor as with most digital images. Overall, it needs contrast and some selective editing to bring out detail and accurate colors. 4 |

gateby whiterookComment by rjkstesch: Your focus seems off as I see some of the leaves in focus and the gate left soft. Overall, it is not a very interesting shot. 4 |

Checkmateby whiterookComment by Denielle: I understand the concept of this photo, but there doesn't seem to be anything in focus. The colors are also a little strange. Maybe more sharpness and a black and white conversion with a boost of whites could have helped? I don't know.

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by Tiberius: Tilted horizon, poor contrast. The rocks in the foreground are neither on focus nor creating a nice blur effect to emphasize the subject, if any. Very uniteresting for me, sorry 3 |

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by Denielle: There seems to be a graininess to this photo? I dunno.
It's a little dark. No real color pop or focus area.
Not feeling it.

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by lunachicken: The horizon line is a little off, and it seems a little flat but these are minor. Really though, it is mostly lacking an element that really grabs your interest. The sky and the rocks alternately could and don't. 4 |

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by daisydavid: Don't know that one, couldn't find it either. The light, while subtle, is a little on the dull side which is a pity because post processing could have really primed it (but not HDR) .5. |

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by Garry: Nice foreground and vista! Wish it was exposed a little better...a little dark for my likeing and robs some of the appeal of the overall scene and detail in the rocks. |
