Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by emoons: There are a few changes that I think would have made this photo better.
1. The horizon line is askew. Straighten up the shot or rotate the canvas in photoshop.
2. There is no real detail in the rocks and foliage. That needs to be brought out some.
3. Color adjustment overall.
4. Longer shutter speed to make the water softer looking.

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by RyanW: A very literal take on the title, i find this to be less than it could be.
a more dramatic feel to the rocks and sky would help to elevate this image, where i find it feeling overall muted and flat.

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by dtremain: Comment Challnege: Interesting colors in the rocks in the foreground, and very nice sky. To me, the picture is bland - like it would make a great background, does not have a subject. |

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by Cory: Can't find a novel by this name, nor does this strike me as a quote.
Image is also rather mundane. composition is the strongest point here - but the tilted horizon affects even that.

Hold back the waterby whiterookComment by RKT: 4...to my eye, the horizon doesn't look quite level, just slightly off, and the image seems generally flat. I'm not familiar with the book, so I can't make an informed comment on that. |
