The lighting, the composition, the pukey color green the shadows the bench placement, the girl in the back, the expression of the girl in front, the shape of the photo and the large dead area of grass on the bottom right all add up to make this shot truly unappealing. This is a higher standard, this is a "Masters' challenge." I wouldn't really want a print of this even if I liked little kid shots running around in formal dress. I'm sorry to be so critical, but I have to be honest.

Cute candid, nice framing. Shadows are a little harsh, and i think this pic might benefit without the girl in the background. Just a suggestion.6

The bench and the dresses of the girls are perfect ingredients for a more romantic image, maybe portraying them as princesses. I am missing some interaction between the two girls in this image, does not convey anything to me.

Perhaps a little soft, but maybe that was the effect you were after. The photo does have a nice feel.

Nicely framed. I think this might have a tough time against some of the other competition.

A nice recording moment - sublime softness, but doesn't hold much lasting appeal to me. I would have cropped a bit off the bottom to stop the girl being Central.

Good backlighting, interesting composition which is nicely framed by the foliage and shadow. The greens are a bit too yellow here for this shot to really 'wow' me, but it would be really hard in PS to liven up the colour of the grass. Lovely, emotive shot. 7

A powerful image for capturing the carefree feel and innocence of children at play.

very nice photo :) i love the facial expressions and the soft tone to the photo though i believe that the shadows are too overpowering in this photo for the soft tones.... normally im one to keep shadows in but possibly IMHO it would improve the photo if the shadows were either toned done or removed all together ... its a gr8 photo overall and i love that soft toned effect, just as i said i believe the shadows are slightly on the too powerfull side for it

Comment by Neil:
An excellent shot, full of life and well taken and presented. Somehow, I think there might be better positioning of the back child for the composition, but with the strong contrast and both children in action, it still works very well as is.
