You're right; our patterns are very similar. It's eerie that the two shots are side by side in the Team Suck thread. I also noticed that we were both using a pattern on top of another pattern to create additional patterns. Needless to say, I like your shot. And I like the black and white treatment. Sorry I can't think of anything to improve it.

I think it's fascinating, and I can hardly stop looking at it. I'm not sure whether it is my tired eye or the the image, but the focus seems to be a little soft on the head and eyes. I love the tongue and wish I could see the tips of it.

I really like the shading on the window frame, I thought it was a border you burned at first. I almost wish the window in the background wasn't there or was filling up more space. I think that might have helped your score quite a bit.
