Brandon Grade 5by dsternerComment by colorcarnival: Yeah I'm a slacker... so I'll give a long comment to make up for it lol.
What a cutie! He looks very comfortable in front of the camera. I'm gonna make some comments tho now, without much experience in using reflectors and what not. The one thing I notice is that his skin has orange/yellow spots and his lips have a light creamy orange color. I'm going to guess this is because of white balance? An expert on this could give you more info. I'm guessing it is because of your reflector. That's something I don't really know how to fix so you will have to ask Tim about that. I'm not really an expert on whether this is underexposed but I do think that you did a great job catching a lot of detail and shadows in the right spot. Plus all the key facial features are in focus - and that's something I usually have a struggle with (I just love my shallow DOF too much lol).
Great job with tackling this whole new lighting set up and kudos to your courage for putting it out for public critique. :D |

Iron Work in "e"by dsternerComment by JuliBoc: How artistic you are to leave the webs in this shot. They really give interest and texture to an otherwise static subject. I probably would have cleared them away and would have had a very mediocre shot. I like the light and the nice shallow DOF. Congratulations on the high score and your new top row entry. |

Iron Work in "e"by dsternerComment by signal2noise: Deb
Congrats on this excellent image and on the 12th place finish. The detail is excellent and the ironwork appears to be consuming the spiderweb and growing from it. The shallow DOF and the amount of noise you left really complement the shot. Message edited by author 2008-10-11 21:40:25. |
