This is just a wonderful shot of Granny. It almost seems as if you caught her too soon in the smile. The expression hasn't reached her eyes yet, plus the squint.

The trick is you hide the bowl part of the spoon and only photograph the handle... :-) I know what you mean, though - it's hard to avoid the reflections since spoons make such good but warped mirrors. A simple elegant setting - the reflected blue makes me think of summer for some reason, and the promise of ice cream in that dish behind the spoon. From a compositional standpoint, I think the horizontal line between the spoon and the glassware is an interruption of sorts - I think that's where the table surface changes, yes?
