Modestyby JuliBocComment by Jutilda: I have the exact same problem It's like the blooms are all tight and clustered and the leaves are so pointy. I think it's pretty with the hazy blue behind them. :~) |

Modestyby JuliBocComment by Prism: Lovely reds. I find red one of the more difficult colours to capture satifactorily, especially on flowers. Nicely done! |

Modestyby JuliBocComment by MelonMusketeer: I like the way the low angle put the palm in the BG. It adds a lot to what would be an otherwise bland sky with the nice curve that frames the top of the flowers. The full sunlight shining thru the blooms brings out a lot of detail there too. You did a nice job of getting the flowers to look good and also including their environment. |

Sunriseby JuliBocComment by Melethia: I really like the way this guy is very much a part of his environment - he's not exactly camoflauged, but fits in so nicely in shape and position. A good natural shot. |

Not a Squirrel by JuliBocComment by Prism: Nice, warm colours. Might just be my screen but the middle to upper corner of the left side seems to be a little heavy on the dodging to me (maybe from the frame?). Really like the criss cross grass in the bg. |

Yellow-crowned Night-heronby JuliBocComment by Prism: This is great. I like how you captured it mid-stride with the one foot not quite down and reflected in the water layer over the sand. I also like your border choice for this shot. |

Modestyby JuliBocComment by MaryO: Love the light coming through the flowers and the colors. And the interesting bokeh.
Totally understand the leaf issue; dang plants should arrange themselves for our benefit (and move to follow the light while they're at it). I've been known to remove leaves (if it's something I planted) or try to rearrange them (if it's wild and I'm pretty sure it's not poisonous), but those leaves look hard to move and make them look natural. They're really not bad the way they are. |

Not a Squirrel by JuliBocComment by MaryO: Nice DOF; I love playing with my 40mm 1.4 to get images like this. Really like the crisscross and stripey bokeh in the background; makes the OOF areas worth looking at all by themselves. |
