I suspect you weren't using a polarizing filter here. It would have improved the photo greatly taking the glare off the rocks and bringing out the color in the plants.

Freshet? Cool title. Freshet: "A sudden overflow of a stream resulting from a heavy rain or a thaw." This looks more like a normal stream to me, but maybe it's a freshet as well. Nice use of low shutter speed. Compositionally, it seems a little cluttered - not that there are too many things in the frame, but not all the things in the frame are working together to make the composition pop.

This looks like it could be used as an ad for this project. Love the clarity of the bird and the fact that it's the only one in the scene. I think it would be cool if our wetland areas would do stuff like this and provide more access to the public. Cool shot.
