Starfishby ladpupmoeComment by e301: This may be the first time I've seen a shot with on-board flash that actually achieves some quality of texture :-) makes it look very hard - though as it's presumably dead that's probably accurate. The top shadow is a shame - constantly pulls the eye away from that in-focus area where I think, for this challenge, you'd want the eye to rest. Actually, in classicla composition terms, you have leading lines working against your area of interst, which is what makes this a little unsatisfying despite the good texture. |

Alligatorby ladpupmoeComment by Mousie: I would have tried to frame this a bit wider, the jaw is a bit close to the left edge for my tastes. Otherwise, a really cool picture! A little spot-editing on the eye to make the black a bit more even might look nice too. |

Ladybugby ladpupmoeComment by Neil: Good capture; I like the opposing diagonals here! The area of the branch in the foreground is a bit overwhelming. You might consider a crop on the left, perhaps making the picture square which might work nicely with the diagonals. Even if the bug ends up being centered, the diagonals will make it worth breaking the rule of thirds. |

Ladybugby ladpupmoeComment by crabappl3: There may be a bit of noise here, but I think the overall presentation of the subject makes up for that. Nice macro work and tones throughout. 8 -danny |
