original approach. I find the big white part in the top left corner a bit distracting.

Had the border not spoiled this I think it could have scored well, and is actually quite novel. However, it's so intrusive that it kills much of its charm. Clever idea.

Hi Peggy,

Greetings from the Critique Club...

You have a way with lines! Your Parallel Lines shots is one of my favorites. This shot shows that same keen eye. Looking over some of your shots, I am impressed with the number of challenges you've entered!

I agree with what's been said below - this shot has a great shot within it. The desat car has the red pop out. The wavy bits on the right rear quarter panel and window along with the tail light and wheel would be enough to tell all it's a car while keeping out the more "ordinary" parts of the frame.

Looking forward to more of your entries in future challenges. PM me if you have any questions on my comments.

Regards,
Theresa

I really like the clarity you were able to achieve on this photo. It looks like you desaturated by removing all colors except red, which left the ladybug a slightly odd brown color at the top. It might have been better to lasso the whole ladybug and desaturate everything else, which would retain the full color of the insect. But it's really nice like this as well - great shot.

Personally I think you should have exactuated the red color for a stronger effect

Nice composition, you really got in there up close and personal. Would've liked a tad sharper focus on the ladybug, seems that thing it's sitting on stole the focus.
