A Face only a Mother Could Love Turkey Vultureby ladpupmoeComment by cools98: I don't know if even a mother could love this face!
Fit Challenge Criteria: 2/2
Color/Contrast: 1/2
Composition: 1/2
Photo Quality: 0/2
My Subjective Affinity: 0/2
The background lookds really distorted, like a bad filter was applied to make it look sketched, or really posterized or something. The bird (is that what it is?) is not very sharp, especially in the face where you are drawing the attention, and the rooftop is almost completely blown out. The winds and feathers are very nicely exposed and very sharp. Nice work on those! |

A Face only a Mother Could Love Turkey Vultureby ladpupmoeComment by Jinjit: I'm not taking points off my vote for a title, but I think your title's not as good as it should. Try loosin the explanation in it. A simple "A Face only a Mother Could Love " would do better IMO.
As for the shot - nice. A bit under exposed and not details on the black part, but I like the pose of the bird and the DOF.
over all a very nice take on the challenge.

Springby ladpupmoeComment by solitarychimera: I like the idea. I think it would have benefited if you had turned the spring some more so we could see the outside as well. Also the dark patch top right draws the eye away from the focal point. Colours are interesting too. |

Springby ladpupmoeComment by _Io_: I thought of spirals, then thought that the picky DPC crew would vote them down for not being circles :) Still, I'm not that petty! Only criticisms I have are the shadow along the seam in your foreground, and the clarity of the spring. |
