I like the photo, the contrast between yellow and black is always great. You will probobly get voted down because the description of the challenge said a black object, this is a yellow object with a black background. On a different challenge this would've been a top 10.

This is a great image composition, color, and focus wise. The border though hurt the score trmenedously. This was more than strong enough to support a simple black background.

Nice composition - I can see you took your time creating this still life. To make it better (imho) I'd get the full shot crisper and zoom in to get more of the texture.

Black background is well done. The only place I really feel texture in the shot is on the extreme edge of the top right shell, which should tell you something about the lighting and what you could do better here - very very close, and I would have thought that the contrast of those textures would be interesting, but that too head-on light lets you down.
