Quiet Trickleby JeileenComment by cools98: Very nice photo. The lighting is beautiful. Contrast between shadows/highlights is excellent. I would like to see a longer shutter speed on this to turn the waterfall, which currently looks very busy, to a soft blur from top to bottom. Also, the foreground leaves that are out of the field of focus are a bit distracting. |

Quiet Trickleby JeileenComment by mist: Little waterfalls like this are really great. This is a very well composed shot. |

Nature's Ownby JeileenComment by posthumous: This isn't very abstract. The background is abstract, but the leaves are highly recognizable and have all sorts of symbolic and sentimental associations. In fact, they bring this picture to life. It feels as though they are swirling in a frozen vortex. It somehow becomes a meditation on memory and loss, but also what is retained. And I can't bring myself to vote less than 9 for this. |

Nature's Ownby JeileenComment by Elaine: This is not an abstract macro to me. Also, my eyes do not know which leaf to focus on. |

Nature's Ownby JeileenComment by _DaveA_: Nice balance of color, composition and texture. Kinda' spooky hint of "something" in the center really makes this very mysterious. |

Nature's Ownby JeileenComment by Jutilda: I likek the balance. I recognize the leaves but not the surface upon which they are lying. Hmmmm Nice one. 7 |

Metered Timeby JeileenComment by LucidLotus: Interesting background for this, I love the color of it and it seems to have some wonky action going on the left side. I like your choice of subject, it is a simple thing but part of everyday life for the most part. I wish the focus was a bit sharper on the numbers though since that is the biggest element in the image (at least in relationship to the challenge) and I think a tighter crop on the bottom would cut out some of the distracting elements that don't add to the composition - the bit of car? in the bottom/side portions. This would also bring the meter's time of 10 even more into the forefront and consolidate the attention there. I gave a 5 |
